The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid was very busy as always.
After a while we did manage to get some pictures close to her on the rocky bank.
Time for lunch
Walking back along the bank we decided that a drink and maybe lunch was in order. At the restaurant at the end of the quay we sat outside enjoying the sunshine. I went inside to pick up some drinks and some menus. The food being eaten by our French table companions did look very good. They were sharing fish and chips and offered our grandson some of the chips as he watched them eating!
I then went in and ordered a large portion of fish and chips. Armed with the buzzer I came back outside to wait. Five minutes later the buzzer burst into life and I went inside to pick up our large tray of fish and chips. They were delicious.
Across from the quay, was we could see the Royal Yacht again and a couple of naval vessels. Around the quay people were sitting on small deck chairs that they had collected from the stacks placed along the quay.
Memorial Park
On our way back past the fountains and the church we stopped to pick up some crêpes.
The park around us was Memorial Park and we were by a bust of Churchill. Further along from the crêpes stand there were two busts of Norwegian WWII heroes who had served in the British Army and the Royal Air Force.
