After our brief visit to Stonehenge we drove North to visit the prehistoric stone circles at Avebury. There are three distinct stone circles at Avebury, the outer circle is flanked by a ditch and and a bank. As we drove into Avebury we passed the avenue of paired stones that ‘leads’ to the outer circle.
After our visit to one of the inner circles of stones we paused for a well earned drink and cake at the National Trust restaurant.
