Rue Franja
We headed into the now familiar pedestrian streets for some window shopping. Going up one of the side alleys we went into the narrow Rue Franja.
Jamonerias El Pinar
We chose to stop at El Pinar for a drink. The bar had tables inside and outside. What set it apart from everywhere else that we past was the hams hanging from the ceiling.
We sat outside and were amazed at the large number of people going in and out, who were clearly just buying ham!
From the table I watched people passing by. When our beers came, they were accompanied by snacks which made our choice of bar even better.
We were joined on our table by a couple off the ship and we chatted for so long that another round of beer was needed.
When it came time to pay, we had a slight issue as I was asked to pay for my first round again as well as our new companions beer! My Spanish is not quite up to the task of explaining but we were eventually helped by a guest inside and the other barman owning up to having taken my money earlier.
Heading back to Sky Princess
Between the casino and the shopping centre we followed two ladies off the ship with their McDonalds.
Back on Sky Princess we had a late lunch in Alfredos. The onboard-package that we had bought when booking the cruise had been “revised“. This now meant that we were limited to only two “free“ pizzas at Alfredos. Any more would come at a cost. On the bright side this removal of my go to lunch probably help me with my diet on board. After this special treat of a pizza we went back to our cabin for a long rest.
Leaving A Coruña
This man (and his dog) were sitting at the side of the marina.
Sky Princess left A Coruña at around 4 pm.
We had a great view of the Tower of Hercules as we left
Evening on Sky Princess
In the dining room after, for once a short wait, we sat on the table for two. Our neighbours were from the USA and we chatted all the way through the meal. Sitting by ourselves and still chatting was somehow easier than simply sharing a table.
The Spotlight Bar
The show in the theatre was the rescheduled production show “The Spotlight Bar“. This was a new show for us and was very enjoyable. The premise was that customers and staff of the bar had a spotlight shone on them in turn. They then sang about their feelings, happy or sad, lonely or in love etc.
All and all it was a very good performance. Later we were not drawn to the Piazza for the house band’s late night set but instead we had an earlier night getting ready for Bilbao the next day.
