Walking back to the beach
Looking back from the cliff top we could see Fram anchored.
Walking back along the track, we now had the wind in our faces. We stood and watched the caracara hovering in the wind and then landing close by. This bird was also not bothered by us passing.
These are the hills that we could have climbed up to get a better view.
Here’s the view over the museum towards Fram in the bay.
The beach in front of the museum
Back at the museum we went onto the beach to get a better view of the geese and the waders and to watch the Polar Circle boats taking passengers back to Fram.

Back to Fram
The queue for the ride back to Fram was rather long and I walked further around the shore to have a better look at the beaches past where the houses were.
When it was our turn to go back back the swell made getting into the boat interesting to say the least. The ride back was very bouncy and generated lots of spray. One of our fellow passengers next to me was being bounced almost out of the boat and I had to hold her down as we hit the waves.
By the time we had boarded Fram and gone through the bio-hazard cleaning all our clothes were wet.
After our buffet lunch I went out on deck to watch the remaining passengers return to Fram and a giant petrel flew close by.
As we sailed away there were dolphins around the ship along with seals.
The weather had by now deteriorated and it was raining as well as windy.
