This week’s competition was a themed print competition inviting members to submit images that matched ‘All you need is love’.
Max and his penguin
This image was shot using my Canon 350D in 2004 and a print of the original has been on my bookshelf ever since. Max had this penguin when he was a puppy and he still had it when he died at 10 years old.
Judge’s comments
Very gorgeous dalmatian with his toy penguin. Just look at the twinkle in his eyes.Using a dark room term this image is a little ‘muddy’ and using Lightroom suggest bringing up the white of the dalamatian.
Cool Love
This image was shot in November 2015 in the port at Ponta Delgada in the Azores as we were waiting for the Azura. I shot it with my Canon EOS 5D Mark III with a 400mm lens at f/6.3 and an exposure time of 1/250. The image has been cropped to remove parked trucks behind the couple and more lamp standards in the foreground.
Judge’s comments
Authors are afraid of leaving space on their images, the huge space on this image makes the viewer hone in the couple kissing.I like the way they are framed by the poles, I like the composition from this talented novice.
Good with the vignetting.
