Before the Soho by night workshop with Simon Ellingworth, I visited the Leake Street arches before catching the underground to Holborn. Just like at Waterloo, the station was supporting the British Legion Poppy Day with soldiers selling poppies. I had travelled to Holborn for my behind the scenes tour of the station with Hidden London. This was my first Hidden London tour since before Covid when I had visited Charing Cross and Euston stations respectively.
Walking to Piccadilly Circus
After the Hidden London tour of Holborn station I decided to walk to Piccadilly Circus.
Seven Dials
The Christmas decorations were being installed.
Covent Garden
The covered market was not very busy.
Royal Opera House
After my walk from Holborn it was definitely time to take a break. Once inside the opera house I went up to the cafe. Sitting on a stool had a great view of Covent Garden below.
After my drink I walked around and looked down on the dining room being prepared for the evening performance.
St Martins Lane
This is the play that we plan to go and see in December at the Duke of York Theatre.
This couple had a friend filming them walking away from their hotel.
Time for something to eat
I managed to find a seat near the bar in the Glassblower pub and next to a window. The bar was filling fast and soonI was surrounded by a party enjoying pints and shots.
Piccadilly Circus
Then I went back down to Piccadilly Circus and joined the crowds.
Up Regent Street the Nespresso window provides an interesting background to passers-by.
Brasserie Zedel
We met Simon outside the brasserie. Inside was fascinating with all the period French posters decorating the stairs.
We stood by the window of the Carpo coffee shop opposite the crowds outside the Glenigan pub. Further up the street the crowds were also gathering outside the theatre.
Night photography around Soho on Halloween

Soho’s Halloween Smile
It was Halloween after all and this guy kindly posed for the group.
Before using in future competitions I tidied up the backgraound.

The restaurants were dark so this group of ladies were using their phone to light up the menu!
This tourist was posing for her partner.
In the heart of Soho we stopped and waited for passers-by outside the shops.

More Halloween poses!
