This was my last visit in 2024 to Richmond Park to see the deer rut. We stopped again at the (then) almost empty car park of Pembroke Lodge.
We were at Pen Ponds at around 7:20 am.
We came up to a group of photographers watching a couple of stags.
Amongst the trees we watched this stag.
Back looking for stags.
Always a good idea to glance behind occasionally…
This stag was chasing the doe above and came rather close to us.
These photographers were almost surrounding the stag after it had circled back after our close pass…
Walking back towards the pond.
In the trees at the side of the pond we watched these two stags.
Then we started walking back to the car park past the pond. The track in the distance was getting busy!
I was now in a part of Richmond Park that I had not visited before. A couple of photographers were set up with tripods watching this stag.
Then it was breakfast time. The car park was full.
The bacon roll was good BUT I do miss the freshly cooked bacon rolls at Pen Ponds which are way more tasty.
