The hand that paints
In the covered market in Saint John New Brunswick this lady was watching her stall and painting at the same time.

… Another hand doing something , I think that this sort of adds a little bit more to the image
… I like the fact that you’ve only included part of the lady , that doesn’t matter and we can see that there is enough there to know what she is doing , the hand is coming into the central area to put paint on her brush , there is some interesting writing on the image
… I think for me I find this image just a little bit cluttered and I did wonder whether if it was cropped jut to home in a little bit more on the brush and the hand, just to give the hand a little bit more impact
.. I don’t mind the fact that she is cut off – that doesn’t bother me
… it is quite interesting that some of these things stood out on my computer screen but it doesn’t stand out on the screen
… for me it is just a little bit cluttered , I would have cropped it down a bit to put more emphasis on the hand
The hand that rocks
As Sky Princess returned to Southampton one of the evening concerts was from ex-ELO lead singer Neil Lockwood. This was another opportunity for me to shoot with my 85mm lens on my R5.

… composition wise I like the way in which you’ve captured the musician and the angle particularly of the guitar , plus you have a nice black background and with the lights there this makes a lovely triangle which give the image a nice balance
… [about] the hands, I probably would have liked to have seen them a little bit bigger in the image, whether cropping slightly differently maybe would have made them slightly bigger
… I would have liked to have seen a little bit more emphasis on the hands
… but otherwise it is another good image, and I love the expression on the musician’s face and the lighting particularly on his face and head scarf thing that he is wearing , that works well

Due to time pressures just like my other entry this image received very little processing. The original image came off my backup CFExpress card which I use to save small JPG images. The camera was set to save JPGs as in-camera mono.
