After gaining a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science I worked for computer manufacturers both in the UK and the USA. Later I took an MBA which then opened up new career paths in marketing and then consultancy but always with a sprinkling of technology. My later experiences extended from venture capital funded start-ups to managing a Europe wide professional consultancy organisation.
My interests are seeing the world, technology, music and of course photography (landscapes, street photography, street art and planes). All of these interests plus the odd post about social media you will find represented on this website.
We caught COVID in March 2022 while we were visiting the Isle of Wight. The after effects (long COVID?) has meant that concentrating on editing images or even writing travel blogs has been on hold for much of 2022 – hopefully during 2024 I will be able to “catch up” and even begin entering international salons again.
International Salons and Exhibitions
During the first COVID lockdowns in 2020 I started to enter photographic salons from around the world. The individual images that gained an Acceptance in these salons can be seen via the top level menu “Acceptances”. Plus I blogged a record of each salon entered using the category “Salons and Exhibitions”.
Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society
In November 2019 I achieved the distinction of Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society.
Credit Award of the PAGB (CPAGB)
In May 2024 I achieved the Credit Award of the PAGB.

Camera Club Activities
To help improve my photography I joined Bracknell Camera Club in 2015. After joining the club committee I had a season as Judge Liaison, which meant booking judges for competitions; then as Programme Secretary for five seasons, which meant timetabling the season and booking 16 or 17 speakers. Plus I looked after the club’s social media and was the webmaster for their website.
During the COVID lockdowns, my role as Programme secretary at Bracknell Camera Club, changed as then I had to rearrange all the schedules and find replacement speakers who could use Zoom to present their talks.
In 2019 I joined Farnborough Camera Club and as of November 2024 am still a member.
I volunteered to become the secretary for the Southern Counties Photographic Federation in 2021.
