This evening was the third round of the Internal PDI League and was an open round. In the first part of the evening I also had one image that was shown to the judge for comment only.
Please keep your distance
This image was from one of my recent visits to Savill Garden to see their ‘Art in the Garden’ exhibition.
I removed the brand name on the camera strap and ‘tidied’ up the background. The judge did notice the words on the sculpture and how the statue appeared to be pushing the couple apart.
Then this image was my entry for the PDI League Round.
I’m Here
Judge’s comments
The bellowing stag, we see a lot of these on the circuit, all different types of exposure but they are all these angry stags bellowing calling for a matea young stag here rutting and he has bracken in his horns and he is bellowing out calling for a mate or he is calling for someone else to come and and have a punch up with him
quite often you see these breath early morning in front of it and we haven’t got anything of such here which is fine
the eyes are really strange aren’t they? they are looking sort of down and the heads up but the eyeballs are actually looking down at the ground which is really strange angle
I quite like the dampness of the fur, matted together which gives us a bit more interest
the exposure is actually quite nice, the depth of field that you have used is just about right. However having said that I am looking at it here on a large screen and I am just trying to blow it up a little bit just to see how much it will, the sharpness is perhaps left just a little bit wanting
having said that you know , it is a pleasing picture for an arms length picture
