Russia and Scandinavia: Stavanger, Norway; North Sea and Southampton

Our last port of call was Stavanger. We had a map of where some of the street art murals had been painted in earlier festivals and we used it to guide our walk around Stavanger. We then had one more sea day before we reached Southampton.

Explorer of the Seas is docked at Stavanger Cruise Port located approximately 500m from the town, public transportation and taxi service is available at the city center.


Our first cruise on Royal Caribbean took us to Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki, St Petersburg, Tallinn, Stockholm, Skagen, Stavanger and back to Southampton.

 

Day 13 Friday 5th July: Stavanger, Norway

Our breakfast was again in the buffet on Deck 3 of the Sapphire restaurant.

There have been a couple of street art festival since our last visit to Stavanger and I had printed a location map where some of the art should be. For all the street art we found see this accompanying blog.

Explorer of the Seas was docked below the Old Town so it was only a short walk to join all the other tourists walking through its cobbled streets.

My street art map was not exactly specific exactly where the murals were. The idea being that the art would be a surprise when it was discovered.

At the top of the Old Town we turned left to search for the first of the murals. This mural hadn’t been painted yet.

We walked down to Breivatnet and walked around looking for the next art.
